Upon asking Yamiyo about some info on the drop, he stated that “The inspiration behind this track comes from Amine’s debut album ‘good for you’ and Kanye West’s ‘Graduation’.” Yamiyo said he wrote, recorded and finished the whole song in less than an hour because the beat was just too good, he knew exactly what he wanted to do with it. The idea for the chorus came from the promise he’s made to everyone he’s met that he “will be successful in the music industry hence the phrase ‘pinky promise’.”
